Who We Are

Fundación ProEd

We are a non-profit educational institution established in 2007 with the purpose of fostering the continuous professional growth of educators, school leaders, and facilitators. Our primary focus is to reduce the educational inequity gap in Panama.

Our team, led by Dr. Debbie Psychoyos, consists of a group of professional women with extensive experience in the field of education, dedicated to advancing and improving education in our country.

Students Supporting Students Program
Social service program for private schools to condition public school classrooms. (executed from 2002 to 2009)
2007
Teachers Supporting Teachers (MAM) Program.
The ProEd Foundation's flagship continuing professional development program for educators.
2012
Nomination for Heroes for Panama.
Dr. Debbie Psychoyos is nominated for the Heroes for Panama award for her work in favor of Panamanian education.
Strengthening the Foundations of Literacy (FBL) Program.
Teacher professional development program that began in Cañazas de Veraguas in alliance with the Asociación Proniñez Panamena.

Future First Grant - HSBC
It allowed us to create the Youth Leadership Academy and Leadership Academy for Directors programs. (until 2015)

Recipients of the UNESCO - Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum award that recognizes Outstanding Performance and Practices in Improving Teacher Effectiveness.

The Diploma in Innovative Strategies for teachers begins as a pilot program.

ProEd DEMO LAB
Creation of the ProEd Demo Lab, a dual-purpose center intended to provide extracurricular enrichment in literacy, technology and creativity for disadvantaged children in Santa Ana, Panama, and to serve as a training space for teachers, is presented as a comprehensive and highly relevant solution for address the educational needs and disparities present in this community.
